Research & Development
The NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI), Adelaide University, Agrisearch Analytical, Rural Industries Research & Development Corporation, and the Queensland Department of Primary Industries are organisations commissioned to conduct efficacy trials for OCP. Currently, new products under development for registration in Australia are:
AzaMax for food use

A new submission has been filed with the APVMA to the Office of Chemical Safety (TGA) presenting the case for the lifting of a ban on the use of AzaMax in food crops here in Australia. A positive outcome will bring Australia inline with the majority of other countries in the world that have registered AzaMax in food crops as a safe and effective biological insecticide. AzaMax/NeemAzal is registered in the USA and most European countries and even our closet OECD neighbour New Zealand has approved AzaMax/NeemAzal an an organic insecticide in all food crops without any withholding periods.

AzaMax has a multiple modes of action. It targets pests as an anti-feedant, growth regulator (IGR), repellent, and ovicide. AzaMax can be safely used in IPM systems and is also safe to pollinators. AzaMax is an effective tool in RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT due to it's effect on specific insect hormones that regulate their sensitivity to chemical sprays.

eco-carb

ecocarb has recently recieved MINOR USE PERMITS for use in most food crops for the control of Powdery Mildew and Myrtle rust. We are working on expanding the ecocarb label to include various rusts like Myrtle rust and Geranium rust as well as Downy mildew in grapes.

SLASHER

New knockdown burn-out herbicide based on an organic acid called Pelargonic acid. Pelargonic acid occurs in nature in pelargonia plants, grape seeds and a number of other natural sources. Pelargonic acid is rapidly broken down in the soil by micro-organisms leaving no harmful residues that can affect other soil micro and macro-organisms and non-targeted plants like perannial crops and follow-on crops.

AGRI-TERRA

New environmentally benign nematicide. Over 5 years of University studies at Louisianna State University under the leadership of Prof Edward McGawley has demonstrated Agri-terra to be the most effective non-toxic nematicide his faculty has ever tested. Based on food grade substances that disrupt nematode parasitism of plant roots and inhibits interaction within the nematode population to severely limit reproduction.
